Near Dark (1987)
A mid-western farm boy reluctantly becomes a member of the
undead when a girl he meets turns out to be part of a band of southern vampires
who roam the highways in stolen cars. Part of his initiation includes a bloody

Personal Review:
One of my all time favorites. It does
drag in some parts but it is a fresh take on vampires and I love the little
touches for each character. Lance
Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Jeanette Goldstein and Joshua John Miller as the amoral
vampires are fantastic. Can’t go wrong
with James Cameron picks, right? (Terminator, Aliens, Titanic….). Adrian Pasdar, Tim Thomerson and Marcie Leeds
as the Colton family are totally believable.
Jenny Wright as the vampire who begins to feel regret is….deadly in a
waif-like way.
