Personal Review: I love the film. It’s one of my go-to movies when I can’t decide what to watch.  All the episodes are good but I do find the Voodoo and Creeping Vine segments at the bottom.  Roy Castle is annoying in Voodoo and you really don’t care when he gets hit with revenge from the Voodoo gods.  Creeping Vine – I think it’s hard to come to care about a family quickly in an anthology piece but the despair at the end works. 

Speaking of annoying…. Christopher Lee’s character is perfectly arrogant, demeaning and vindictive.  By time karma deals with him you’re almost satisfied, the goal of the segment.

My favorite is Werewolf.  It’s a unique twist on werewolves and I don’t think most see the twist before the end.

The ending to the film is great.  It’s telegraphed all through the movie but the acting and the atmosphere pull it together and Dr. Shreck is…perfect.

The Devil Rides Out (1968) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062885/?ref_=nv_sr_3 My personal review is that this is one of my favorite films and I think one of Christopher Lee’s best and who can resist Charles Gray as a villain?   The only flaws are that the spider effect didn’t hold up well (go figure it was 1968) and the ending can be confusing for those who haven’t read the book.   The movie does away with the real plot of the book in retrieving the part of Osiris’ anatomy that Isis didn’t find after Set chopped him up in Egyptian mythology.   In the movie we’re never really sure why Mocata won’t let Simon or Tanith go as there seems to be plenty of devil worshippers running around at the grand sabbat.   In the book they need Simon as a foci to find Osiris’ bits because of his astrological chart and being easily hypnotized (we see that in the film).   The ending of Marie calling on Isis (positive magic) to defeat Mocata who is using Setian magic make...
